Energy Technology Open Day

Registration is now open for the Energy Technology Open Day - an event organized by INESC TEC, through TEC4Energy, which aims to be a space for sharing innovations developed at the Institute and which have the theme of Energy as their common denominator.

The event will take place on Tuesday, December 3, at 2pm, in the Noble Auditorium of the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto (FEUP).

What to expect?

1. A Pitch session (Watt the Tech?! Pitch 4 All) in which INESC TEC researchers will briefly present relevant projects in which they are involved, on the subject of energy;
2. A round table (Tech Talk at the Round Power Table) which will debate current and future challenges on the following topics, for which we have proposed to the panel of experts we invited a range of questions that will be addressed during the session:

• Smarter Grids: What more is needed for deeper improvement?

• New roles for Electric Mobility Infrastructures: The more electric vehicles, the more charging infrastructures there will be! What kind of flexibility services can these infrastructures provide to the grid? How important is fast charging?

• The importance of mini and micro generation: How will distribution networks be affected by a massive presence of mini and micro sources?

• Expectations for offshore wind energy: The impact of offshore wind power plants on the EHV grid and how can it leverage the Portuguese industry?

• Green Hydrogen: How can the production of green H2 change the landscape in Portugal? How viable is it? Should we dive into the sea?

3. Happy hour (cocktail), with a technological showcase of solutions (hardware and software) developed by INESC TEC researchers for the energy sector.
