Caravana Tecnológica visits INESC TEC

On 16 November, INESC TEC received the Caravana Tecnológica (Technological Caravan) of the MTech Portugal 2017 initiative and, in particular, the group of companies that expressed interest in getting to know the institute, its centres and its work.

The MTech Portugal 2017 initiative aimed to serve as a bridge between Portugal and Brazil and brought to Portugal thirty Brazilian companies with the aim of providing them with a better knowledge of the Portuguese ICT and R&D+i market and also a greater approximation to it.

After a participation in the Web Summit 2017 event in Lisbon, the Caravana Tecnológica MTech visited institutions in various regions of Portugal with the aim of developing technical cooperation and business agreements. In Porto, INESC TEC was selected because it matched the various interests of the companies involved.

INESC TEC prepared a host programme that included a visit to its robotics laboratories, presentations by INESC TEC and by the entourage, interventions by the centres for which interest was expressed (Laboratory of Artificial Intelligence and Decision Support [LIAAD], Centre for Innovation, Technology and Entrepreneurship [CITE], Centre for Enterprise Systems Engineering [CESE] and Centre for Telecommunications and Multimedia [CTM]) and, finally, a networking session.

There were obvious matching interests, thus leading to agreements regarding the continuation of contacts following the initiative, which may result in several possibilities for carrying out joint projects.
