Fibersensing receives Honourable Mention

Fibersensing, a spin-off company from INESC Porto, received, on 29 November, an Honourable Mention in the category of Innovation of the Awards CEP-AEP 2009, given in the context of the Entrepreneurial Cooperation Forum Galicia-North of Portugal.

Promoted by the Business Owners' Confederation of Pontevedra (CEP) and by the Entrepreneurial Association of Portugal (AEP), these awards aim at promoting the concepts of innovation, internationalisation, technology transfer and cooperation in Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) that represent the cross-border context of Galicia-North of Portugal.

The Portuguese company, specialised in optical fibre technology, optoelectronics, digital electronics and instrumentation, offers solutions to automate structure monitoring with sensors or analysis of results. These solutions are mainly applied in civil engineering, geotechnics, aeronautical industry or energy.

This award is yet more recognition of INESC Porto’s Technology Transfer activities and the work that Fibersensing has been developing, always seeking advanced technical solutions, assuring the innovation, quality and reliability of its products. Fibersensing was awarded in the category of Innovation, together with the Spanish textile company, Gonzabel, S.L.
