INESC Porto assesses impact of renewable energies for the European Commission
The Power Systems Unit (USE) will coordinate a study, together with the University of Cagliari (Italy), on the long-term impact (2030) of the high growth of the renewable energy sector in the European networks.

The study is entitled “Study on the impact of large renewable deployment on European Electricity Higher Voltage Systems” and it will be carried out in the context of a contract with the Institute for Energy of the European Commission’s Joint Research Center.
The elements from USE participating in this project will be Manuel Matos (coordinator), João Peças Lopes and Luís Seca.
