INESC Porto starts DINAMIC project

INESC Porto’s Manufacturing Systems Engineering Unit (UESP) started working on the DINAMIC project in January, in the context of the Interreg-SUODE Programme. The project is coordinated by the Official Chamber of Trade, Industry and Navigation of Barcelona, together with the Polytechnic Institute of Setúbal (IPS) and the Chambers of Commerce of Cantabria, Catalonia and Toulouse.

With this project, the aim is to overcome a set of obstacles to Innovation related to the lack of an entrepreneurship and innovation culture, to the lack of specific training, and due to reduced connections between companies and research centres. These obstacles have already been identified at the R+D+I for SMEs, a project that is also integrated in the Interreg programme.

The project will make it possible to introduce dynamic agents that will promote innovation projects in a set of companies. These dynamic agents, to be recruited among last year students in the University of Porto, will receive specific training in innovation management and dynamisation of relationships with research centres.

The main goal is to improve Research, Development and Innovation (R+D+I) activities in companies and thus increase their competitiveness.

The project DINAMIC will be coordinated by António Correia Alves, with the participation of the Innovation and Technology Transfer Unit (UITT).
