INESC Porto supports fight against AIDS
A protocol has recently been signed between the Coordenação Nacional para a Infecção VIH/SIDA, IP (National Coordination for HIV/AIDS, PI – Public Institute) and INESC Porto in order to support the development of a computer system for HIV/AIDS, called SI.VIDA.
23rd April 2008
Several activities will be developed in the context of this cooperation, such as a Consultation Programme, the technical clauses for a Tender Specification and a detailed technical specification; support with the selection of suppliers, monitoring of the computer system’s development, support in testing, and monitoring the installation and implementation of SI.VIDA at the pilot health care units.
These activities will take place during a long period of 13 months.
It is important to remember that the Information and Communication Systems Unit (USIC) from INESC Porto has already participated in the diagnosis, survey, analysis and specification of this system’s requirements, in a work that involved not only the signatory parties of the abovementioned protocol, but also 18 public hospitals within the five Regional Administrations for Health, and a prison hospital.
The Power Systems Unit is responsible for the definition of the assessment methodology.
