INESC TEC breast cancer research honoured at Senology Congress
Research in the breast cancer area conducted by researchers from INESC TEC’s Telecommunications and Multimedia Unit (UTM) was honored by the Portuguese Senology Society as part of the Senology National Congress, which took place in Porto between 17 and 19 November.

The
goal was to honour research groups that have developed sustainable projects in
the breast cancer area and published results. This
congress was attended by some of today's most prominent names in breast cancer research,
in Portugal and internationally. Maria
João Cardoso, researcher at INESC TEC and surgeon at the S. João Hospital
in Porto, represented INESC TEC at this event.
It is important to highlight that INESC TEC has played a key role in the area of breast cancer, which is confirmed by projects such as the Semantic Pacs, the BCCT.core, MammoClass or PICTURE (initially PICASSO).
