INESC TEC co-organises events on Optics and Photonics

The Portuguese Society for Research and Development in Optics and Photonics is organising, in collaboration with INESC TEC and IT-Aveiro, the first Summer School on Recent Advances in Optics and Photonics, to be held between 27 and 29 June at the Faculty of Science of the University of Porto (FCUP). As part of this event, INESC TEC is also organising the 10th edition of the Symposium on Enabling Optical Networks and Sensors (SEONS), which takes place on 27 June.

01st June 2012

Discussing research and development in different fields of Optics and Photonics is the main goal of the first Summer School on Recent Advances in Optics and Photonics. This is indeed an area where there have been notable advances in the last decade in Portugal.

This event aims to give students and young researchers an opportunity to learn about some of the recent developments that have occurred in this area and improve their knowledge in the Optics and Photonics areas.

The Symposium on Enabling Optical Networks and Sensors 2012, which is also supported by the IT-Aveiro, is coordinated by Orlando Frazão, a researcher at INESCTEC’s Optoelectronics and Electronic Systems Unit (UOSE).

The aim with this technical meeting is to promote the exchange of ideas between academics and industry professionals working in the Photonics area. Abstract submission for this meeting are open until 15 June. For the first time the Symposium will have a special issue on Photonic Sensors. Submissions are open until 30July 2012.
