INESC TEC demonstrates Logistic Planner solution in London
Rui Dias, researcher at INESC TEC’s Centre for Enterprise Systems Engineering (CESE), has demonstrated the Logistic Planner solution at ICAPS 2016 - The 26th International Conference on Automated Planning and Scheduling, which took place in London, UK, between 12 and 17 June.
01st July 2016
The solution was developed as part of the STAMINA - Sustainable and Reliable Robotics for Part Handling in Manufacturing Automation, a project in the field of automation. The Logistic Planner is used to create a model of the space where robot STAMINA will be moving, using semantic and geometric information. Besides demonstrating the solution, Rui Dias also did a presentation entitled “Planning for Sustainable and Reliable Robotic Part Handling in Manufacturing Automation”.
It is important to stress that the goal with project STAMINA is to create a fleet of mobile manipulator robots with different sensors that can perform different tasks such as kitting and bin-picking.
Besides INESC TEC (represented by CRIIS and CESE), the STAMINA consortium includes Aalborg University (Denmark), Peugeot Citroën Automobiles S.A. (France), BA Systèmes SAS (France), Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn (Germany) and University of Edinburgh (UK). Funded by the EU 7th Framework-Programme, the project will be concluded in March 2017.
