INESC TEC in sharing economy project in the area of sustainable tourism

The new European project in the field of sustainable tourism and cultural heritage is called TuriSMEshare and has the participation of the Centre for Innovation, Technology and Entrepreneurship (CITE) of INESC TEC. The kick-off meeting took place on 14 and 15 December, in Rome.

11th January 2018

This project is coordinated by the Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche (Italy) and has partners from Bulgaria (GIS - Technology Transfer Foundation) and Spain (Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Navigation of Mallorca). The INESC TEC team consists of Alexandra Xavier, Sara Neves and Andreia Passos.

The project has a duration of 24 months and is part of a pilot action for European entities that were part of the Enterprise Europe Network (EEN) at the time of the application. Its objective is to support, in the four countries that make up the consortium, SMEs working in the sectors of Sustainable Tourism and Cultural Heritage, through a set of actions, ranging from the national mapping of technological platforms for supporting the collaborative economy to the provision of specialised counselling services.

This participation of INESC TEC reflects the synergies that CITE has been able to create among the various projects of the Enterprise Europe Network (this is the 4th active project with the Network's endorsement) and other projects in the field of entrepreneurship, as in the case of Startup Porto Accelerator, in which innovative projects in the field of Digital Tourism were supported.
