INESC TEC organises Open Day for companies
"Innovation at the Service of Companies" – this was the motto for the Open Day organised jointly by the Telecommunications and Multimedia Unit (UTM) and the Information and Computer Graphics Systems Unit (USIG), which took place on 21 June at INESC TEC. This event targeted companies in the sector of Information, Communication and Electronics Technologies operating in the global market.

How far can the collaboration between companies/institutes and companies/companies go? This is the question that the event promoters wanted to give an answer to, while showing INESC TEC’s know-how in Telecommunications, Multimedia and Software, as well as the Institution’s different forms of collaboration with companies.
Other than the presentation of some examples of successful projects in these areas, the Open Day featured testimonials from companies that have used the R&D) developed at INESC TEC which allowed them to become more competitive and innovative.
The programme of the Open Day ended with a roundtable where groups discussed the collaboration between science and business innovation, the role that institutions play in the internationalisation of companies, the importance of PhD holders in organisations and models to explore technologies that should be adopted in the Information, Communication and Electronics Technologies sector.
