INESC TEC provides services to pharmaceutical company
INESC TEC’s Centre for Industrial Engineering and Management (CEGI) is currently developing a project to configure the logistics chain of a pharmaceutical wholesaler.
11th March 2014
The team of researchers at CEGI, which includes Bernardo Almada-Lobo, Pedro Amorim, Sara Martins, Gonçalo Figueira and Luís Guimarães, follows a methodology that makes it possible to analyse the company’s current supply chain, create and validate the model of the company’s supply chain, study alternative models for the supply chain, and also analyse the sensitivity to the most uncertain parameters of the optimisation/simulation models built, and perform a final diagnosis.
In this last topic, the researchers will assess parameters such as the capacity and function of each warehouse, assign products and clients to warehouses, and analyse information flow in the supply chain.
The project, which started in February, has a duration of 18 weeks.
The INESC TEC researchers mentioned in this article are associated with the following partner institutions: INESC Porto e FEUP.
