INESC TEC researcher leads scientific committee of conference in the US

Leonel Morgado, researcher at INESC TEC’s Centre for Information Systems and Computer Graphics (CSIG), is co-chair of the scientific committee of the Immersive Learning Research Network (iLRN 2016), to be held between 27 June and 1 July at the University of California (Santa Barbara campus).

Leonel Morgado, researcher at INESC TEC’s Centre for Information Systems and Computer Graphics (CSIG), is co-chair of the scientific committee of the Immersive Learning Research Network (iLRN 2016), to be held between 27 June and 1 July at the University of California (Santa Barbara campus).

The goal of the iLRN is to promote a broad and impactful research programme that focuses on the potential and challenges of immersive learning environments.

Bringing together scientists, professionals, organisations and innovators, the iLRN aims to explore, describe and apply immersive tools in learning environments. The conference programme also features virtual meetings and symposia, where participants will discuss and demonstrate the operation of these immersive learning environments.

Besides being a researcher INESC TEC, Leonel Morgado also teaches at Universidade Aberta. He completed a PhD in Computer Science at the University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro in 2006 and is a member of the board of the Portuguese Society of Videogames Sciences.
