INESC TEC studies application of new immersive functionalities in different scenarios

INESC TEC’s Centre for Information and Computer Graphics Systems (CSIG) is currently developing a project as part of the 2014-2015 Innovation Plan, in partnership with and funded by PT Inovação e Sistemas.

The goal of the InMERSE is to help understand the potential of using natural interaction, augmented reality and virtual reality techniques and devices in immersive entertainment and professional scenarios.

Using augmented reality devices such as Google Glass, Oculus Rift, or Leap Motion, the researchers hope to build two demonstrators for applications using new interaction and immersion functionalities in the entertainment and professional scenarios selected.

With a duration of one year, the InMERSE will be concluded in June 2015. The INESC TEC team involved in the project includes CSIG researchers Benjamim Fonseca, Leonel Morgado, Luís Barbosa, Hugo Paredes and Paulo Martins.
