LIAAD with collaborator in Brazilian bank
Luís Torgo, researcher from LIAAD – INESC Porto LA (Laboratory of Artificial Intelligence and Decision Support), was invited by the “A Caixa” Brazilian bank (www.caixa.gov.br) to give a 30 hour intensive course on programming environment and analysis of R data. The course took place last December.

R (www.r-project.org) is an open source free environment that has been registering an increasing and exponential acceptance, not only in the academic world, but also in entrepreneurial world. LIAAD has several experts in this area and this is, in fact, one of the topics taught by LIAAD members at the Faculty of Economics from the University of Porto (FEP), not only at an undergraduate level, but also at a post-graduate level.
