Portal for senior citizens highlighted at International Conference

The portal e-mili@, developed by INESC TEC, was presented at the International Conference for Ageing and Social Innovation, which took place on 19 and 20 November, at the Gulbenkian Foundation in Lisbon.

The e-mili@ was designed for the senior population in the municipality of Santa Maria da Feira, with the goal of increasing access and qualifying this age group to Information and Communication Technologies (ICT). In this sense, the platform fits into the conference program, which brings together entities with direct intervention in the policies and measures to promote inclusion, well-being and active ageing as a success case in the area of ​​Digital Inclusion area. The conference was attended by the European Commissioner for Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion, and the Ministry of Solidarity and Social Security of the Portuguese government.

The programme's portal e-mili@ was created by INESC TEC’s Information Systems and Computer Graphics Unit (USIG) and the Information Technology Service (SIG), in collaboration with the City of Santa Maria da Feira and the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation . The INESC TEC team responsible for implementing the collaborative systems included Paulo Melo, Rui Barros and Rúben Moreira.
