Researcher from CRACS is guest speaker at ICLP'09
Paulo Moura, researcher from the Center for Research in Advanced Computing Systems (CRACS) will participate as guest speaker in ICLP'09 - 25th International Conference on Logic Programming, which will take place in Pasadena, California (USA), from 14 to 17 July 2009.
06th April 2009
Since the first ICLP conference, held in Marseilles in 1982, this has been the premier international conference for the presentation of research on logic programming.
Doctoral researcher and professor at the University of Beira Interior, Paulo Moura’s main research interests are the design and implementation of logic programming systems, multi-paradigm programming languages and object-oriented programming. Logtalk is his most widely known work and will be the theme of his presentation at ICLP'09
Logtalk consists of an object-oriented logic programming language that is compatible with most Prolog implementations. Logtalk is available for free with an open source license.
The researcher will start his presentation by mentioning the project’s design objectives, followed by a tutorial on Logtalk programming and practical examples of application. In conclusion, the researcher will show the problems and benefits of developing Logtalk as a Prolog portable application.
