Photonics Spectra is an optoelectronics magazine with emphasis on applications.

A section of this magazine, Photonics Research, highlights articles published in scientific magazines that show practical use potential. In December's issue, several works of the Universities of Ottawa, Arizona and Sheffield, for example, are presented.

There is a recent article of UOSE in the acclaimed Optics Letters (Oct. 15, 2006, pp.2960-2962) of collaborators Orlando Frazão, José Luis Santos, (UOSE),  Luis Alberto Ferreira and Francisco Araújo (UTM). The article is also the result of a collaboration with the Technological University of Paraná in Curitiba, Brazil, represented by the authors Rosane Falate and J.Fabris.

The original article refers an optical fiber inclinometer designed and implemented by INESC Porto's researchers using technologies also developed by INESC Porto. This reference in an international technical magazine is a recognition of the market interest of UOSE's R&D activity.
