USIC develops project with SEGALAB

USIC is supporting SEGALAB – Laboratory of Animal Sanity and Food Safety, in the development of a NITEC project – System of Incentives to The Creation of R&D Units in the Business Sector, which was recently presented and approved.

02nd March 2007

This support consists of the development of a process of technology transfer, in the field of information systems.
The main vectors of this process are the support to the reforming of SEGALAB’s information system; the support to the implementation of applications and/or specific modules and technology transfer through the training of a collaborator.

USIC will develop a work of collection, modelling and reforming of business processes, using the best practices and specifying a process-oriented information systems architecture. This architecture will comprehend the existing systems and/or new systems which are specified and whose development will be monitored in a way as to ensure conformity with the objectives identified. In this work, new paradigms of interaction via web and mobile computation will be explored in order to create competitive advantages and allow SEGALAB to improve processes and launch new products and solutions.

This project reflects the experience acquired by USIC in the definition and practical implementation of architectures of information systems, business process-oriented, guaranteeing the alignment of the technology with the objectives of the business.

SEGALAB is a company connected to AGROS – Association of Milk Producers of Entre Douro and Minho and Trás-os-Montes - and carries out tests in the area of Food Safety and Animal Sanity.

USIC’s team involved in this project includes Rui Barros and Paulo Melo.
