UTM researcher at Carnegie Mellon University

José Machado da Silva, a researcher at the Telecommunications and Multimedia Unit (UTM), was on a sabbatical at the Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) between February and May this year. While at the CMU, the researcher had the opportunity to collaborate with Jeyanandh Paramesh teaching the subject “RF IC Design and Implementation”.

At CMU, José Machado da Silva has also participated in meetings of the Advanced Chip Test Laboratory group, which develops work in the field of testing and design for testability of integrated circuits and systems.

As part of this sabbatical, the subject Testing and Design for Testability within the Doctoral Program in Electrical and Computer Engineering at FEUP courses was included in the teaching programme of the Information and Communication Technologies Institute (ICTI), which will be lectured jointly by the CMU and Portuguese Universities.

Also as part of this visit, the researcher prepared and submitted the application for the SIVIC project to the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT) in all fields of science. The project’s research team also includes Shawn Blanton and Jeynandh Paramesh from CMU.
