UTM researcher concludes aggregation exams

On 9 and 10 January, Jaime Cardoso, a researcher at INESC TEC’s Telecommunications and Multimedia Unit (UTM), successfully concluded his aggregation exams in the area of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto (FEUP).

After his curriculum vitae and report on the programme, contents and teaching methods of the "Machine Learning" course were assessed, Professor Mário Alexandre Teles de Figueiredo presented the session "Learning When to Say ‘I don't Know’".

Besides being a researcher at INESC TEC since 1999, where he leads the area of Information Processing and Pattern Recognition, Jaime dos Santos Cardoso is also an assistant professor at FEUP. At UTM, he works in various health related projects. He was recently chosen to be the new president of the Portuguese Association for Pattern Recognition (APRP), a private non-profit association that promotes scientific research on pattern recognition.
