INESC TEC breast cancer research honoured at Senology Congress

Research in the breast cancer area conducted by researchers from INESC TEC’s Telecommunications and Multimedia Unit (UTM) was honored by the Portuguese Senology Society as part of the Senology National Congress, which took place in Porto between 17 and 19 November.

INESC TEC works in partnership with InovRetail

In the beginning of November, INESC TEC (the entity coordinated by INESC Porto) started working on a project with company InovRetail Lda. The aim with this project, entitled ASSIST, is to study and develop technology and algorithms for video processing which can help analyse movement patterns of groups of people in closed spaces.

INESC TEC researcher publishes article in international journal

Fernando Pereira, a researcher at INESC TEC’s Telecommunications and Multimedia Unit (UTM), has recently published an article in the Journal of Location Based Services. The paper presents the work developed in 2011 at CERN (the European Organization for Nuclear Research) where the researcher worked as an intern, and some conclusions.

INESC TEC at the European Researchers’ Night

On 28 September, the University of Porto (U.Porto) organised in Porto the “European Researchers’ Night – NEI 2012”, which was dedicated this year to the theme “The Body”. INESC TEC joined this initiative, which took place simultaneously in more than 30 European countries. At this event, those who visited the Reitoria building of U.Porto had the opportunity to get familiarised with some of the research projects and innovative products developed at the Associate Laboratory.
