InstitutionalAn INESC TEC paper in the area of medical image analysis is among the 10% most cited papers in the scientific journal PLOS One of 2017. With the participation of researchers from the Centre for Biomedical Engineering Research (C-BER) and the Centre for Telecommunications and Multimedia (CTM), the paper describes a method for automatic classification of histology images of breast tissue biopsy into four classes: normal tissue, with benign lesions, with carcinoma in situ or invasive carcinoma.

InstitutionalDetermining water stress in plants is a critical task for the optimisation of water-based agricultural inputs and contributes to more sustainable and efficient processes. With this market need in mind, INESC TEC developed a technology capable of mapping the water distribution in the vegetation. The innovation called Water Percept is among the three finalists of the «Entrepreneurship and Innovation" award from Crédito Agrícola, in the "Production, Transformation and Commercialisation" category.
