A new way to plan routes: mathematical models and algorithms overcome unpredictability

The TacitRouting project - combining data science methods with traditional optimisation techniques for last-mile route planning to make them more efficient - received the PEL Academia 2025 prize by APLOG, the Portuguese Logistics Association. What should we know to make our homes more energy efficient? There's a European project that can support us.

Homes in Europe are estimated to be responsible for approximately 40% of the European Union's energy consumption and 36% of greenhouse gas emissions. DECODIT, a European project featuring INESC TEC, will support the energy transition of homes, through the development of digital services to support citizens in the decision-making process of renovating and managing the energy of their homes. These services will help us choose the solutions that best meet our personal needs.

European project aimed at contributing to the digitalisation of shipbuilding won an international award

INESC TEC is one of the partners of the European project Mari4_YARD, dedicated to the development of flexible and modular construction solutions in small and medium-sized shipyards; this endeavour was one of the winners in the Economic Viability category of the prestigious Waterbone Awards initiative. The award acknowledged the work carried out within the scope of this project, which aimed to develop technological solutions to assist naval workers, as well as to prepare operations for the future.
