The first results presentation session of the SmartFarming project was held on 15 November at the Herdade Maria da Guarda, in Serpa, one year after the start of the project.

InstitutionalNuno Moniz, from the Laboratory of Artificial Intelligence and Decision Support (LIAAD), and João Monteiro, from the Centre for Information Systems and Computer Graphics (CSIG), both INESC TEC researchers, were two of the winners of the Fraunhöfer Portugal Challenge 2017. This competition awards research works that demonstrate practicality and promote cooperation between the industry and the scientific community, in two categories (Master’s and PhDs).

The purpose is to help teams improve their performances.

He was awarded as part of a competition which awards the best theses and dissertations in Artificial Intelligence and Computer Science (CTDIAC).

InstitutionalOn 1 June, INESC TEC started a new project called “CONTEXTWA: Middleware and Context Inference Techniques from Data-Streams for the Development of Context-Aware Services using Mobile Devices”, where the goal is to apply middleware and inference techniques from data flows in order to develop services based on context for mobile devices. INESC TEC is the tenderer.
