Spin-off from INESC Porto and FEUP takes WEB Social to primary and junior schools

The project “Escolinhas – Plataforma Colaborativa e Social para Escolas do Ensino Básico 1/2” (Escolinhas – Collaborative and Social Platform for Primary and Junior Schools), coordinated by Ademar Aguiar, reseracher at the Information and Communication Systems Unit (USIC), was presented on 14 May, at the auditorium of the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto (FEUP).

Spin-off from INESC Porto awarded by the British Ambassador

Tomorrow Options, a spin-off company from INESC Porto, has recently established a branch office in the United Kingdom. The company was also awarded with the "Investment Awards" by the British Ambassador in Portugal. Thus, the company is included in the group of best Portuguese researchers in the UK, considering the importance of the company’s project WalkinSense.

INESC Porto supports economic viability study

INESC Porto will support an economic viability study for a project where the intention is to develop windows with thin film technology. This decision was taken after a meeting on 5 November between the people in charge of the companies Solaronix (Switzerland) and A2Z (France), and members of INESC Porto’s Innovation and Technology Transfer Unit (UITT) and Optoelectronics and Electronic Systems Unit (UOSE).

A new book by Aurora A.C. Teixeira (Scientific coordinator of UITT) and Ana Teresa T. Lehmann will be published in the end of September by Vida Económica. This is a prize winning book (1st Prize Foreign Direct Investment API-Universidade Coimbra) addressing three areas of paramount relevance to the economic growth and prosperity of any developed nation - Foreign Direct Investment (FDI), Human Capital, and R&D.
