INESC Porto prepares new stage of Wind Production Forecast project

The Power Systems Unit (USE) has signed a contract for the new stage of the Wind Production Forecast project with the EPREV consortium, together with INEGI, the Centre for Wind Energy and Atmospheric Flows from FEUP (CEsA) and the Centre of Geophysics of the Faculty of Science of the University of Lisbon (CGUL). For this, USE had the support of the Manufacturing Systems Engineering Unit (UESP).

INESC Porto concludes study for ENERCON

The Power Systems Unit (USE) has recently concluded a study for ENERCON regarding the analysis of aerogenerators in a stationary and dynamic environment. These aerogenerators will afterwards be installed at the Fonte da Mesa 2 and Salgueiros Guilhado wind parks.

The Power Systems Unit (USE) will develop a work, together with the Argonne National Laboratory (ANL) in the United States, for the Department of Energy (DoE) of the American Government. The work is related to the forecast of the production of wind energy.

The Power Systems Unit (USE) has participated through its coordinator, João Peças Lopes, in the General Assembly for the Smart Grids European Technological Platform, which took place in Brussels. João Peças Lopes, member of the platform’s Mirror Group, spoke on the theme of “Active Distribution Networks”.

João Peças Lopes, coordinator of INESC Porto’s Power Systems Unit (USE), has participated as speaker in a workshop promoted by the European Union on Energy Efficiency and Smart Grids, which took place in Lisbon, on 26 June. The theme of the presentation was "Smart Metering".
