About
Alípio is a consultant and researcher at the Centre for Innovation, Technology, and Entrepreneurship (CITE) at INESC TEC, focusing on Technology and Innovation Management and Technology-based Entrepreneurship. He lectures on technology management, innovation, and entrepreneurship at the University of Porto. Alípio is a mentor in HiSeedTech’s technology commercialisation and entrepreneurship programs.
In 2017, as a founding team member, he helped launch HiSeedTech, a not-for-profit association promoting the exploitation of relevant research through technology entrepreneurship and open innovation, where he coordinated HiSeedTech’s technology commercialisation and entrepreneurship programs and directly supported, advised and coached entrepreneurial teams. Between 2015 and 2018, as Assistant Director, he led the entrepreneurial and industrial partnering initiatives of the Carnegie Mellon Portugal Program, an international partnership in Information and Communication Technology between Portuguese universities, research labs and companies, and Carnegie Mellon University.
Prior experiences include being responsible for project development and pipeline in the Technology Commercialisation Accelerator and coordinating the COHiTEC Program, a high-tech high-growth startup accelerator training program, both at COTEC Portugal. Also served as Business Development Manager of Critical Materials, a technological startup focused on the development of material and structural monitoring systems for the aeronautical, space and defence industries; and developed various R&D projects in acoustics at Instituto da Construção.
Alípio holds an MBA from Porto Business School (2008) and an undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering from the Faculty of Engineering (2006), both from the University of Porto.
