Catalisador para cidades sustentáveis
Nowadays, cities are facing several and distinct challenges due to the complex co-existence of citizens, elements from different segments and transversal axes to urban area, such as, energy and mobility and governance. The ?City Catalyst ? Catalisador para as Cidades Sustentáveis? project aims to address these challenges in real context, by performing research, development and validation of technological solutions and innovative services. Those will promote an integrated city management, more efficient and effective. Furthermore, it will catalyze the innovation of cities and the sustainable development by specific contributions to implementation and interoperability of urban platforms. Therefore, the City Catalyst project was structured in different research and development lines, addressing pioneer topics in smart and sustainability cities, such as sensory infrastructures, communication and computational processing (PPS1), cibersecurity and information privacy (PPS2), data models and interfaces (PPS3), processes of co-creation and open science to develop smart and sustainablecompetitive cities (PPS4). Additionally, the project includes the implementation of a vast number of demonstrators that aim to validate the developed solutions in 5 portuguese cities (Porto, Aveiro,Guimarães, Famalicão and Cascais) in mobility, energy and city governance domains. The project will transform the challenges of building future cities into innovative opportunities of increased economic value, by the developing of 21 new products and services, with worldwide impact, either in cities either to citizens. To achieve the proposed R&D and market goals, the City Catalyst consortium includes 22 organizations (business and scientific) which will work together to propel an integrated city management. The City Catalyst project will reinforce Portugal as a reference market in export of innovative solutions to Smart and Sustainable Cities.
