Systematic Literature Review of Realistic Simulators Applied in Educational Robotics Context

Abstract
This paper presents a systematic literature review (SLR) about realistic simulators that can be applied in an educational robotics context. These simulators must include the simulation of actuators and sensors, the ability to simulate robots and their environment. During this systematic review of the literature, 559 articles were extracted from six different databases using the Population, Intervention, Comparison, Outcomes, Context (PICOC) method. After the selection process, 50 selected articles were included in this review. Several simulators were found and their features were also analyzed. As a result of this process, four realistic simulators were applied in the review's referred context for two main reasons. The first reason is that these simulators have high fidelity in the robots' visual modeling due to the 3D rendering engines and the second reason is because they apply physics engines, allowing the robot's interaction with the environment.

Design, Modeling, and Control of an Autonomous Legged-Wheeled Hybrid Robotic Vehicle with Non-Rigid Joints

Abstract
This paper presents a legged-wheeled hybrid robotic vehicle that uses a combination of rigid and non-rigid joints, allowing it to be more impact-tolerant. The robot has four legs, each one with three degrees of freedom. Each leg has two non-rigid rotational joints with completely passive components for damping and accumulation of kinetic energy, one rigid rotational joint, and a driving wheel. Each leg uses three independent DC motors-one for each joint, as well as a fourth one for driving the wheel. The four legs have the same position configuration, except for the upper hip joint. The vehicle was designed to be modular, low-cost, and its parts to be interchangeable. Beyond this, the vehicle has multiple operation modes, including a low-power mode. Across this article, the design, modeling, and control stages are presented, as well as the communication strategy. A prototype platform was built to serve as a test bed, which is described throughout the article. The mechanical design and applied hardware for each leg have been improved, and these changes are described. The mechanical and hardware structure of the complete robot is also presented, as well as the software and communication approaches. Moreover, a realistic simulation is introduced, along with the obtained results.

Battery Management System For Mobile Robots based on an Extended Kalman Filter Approch

Abstract
Robots are rapidly developing, due to the technology advances and the increased need for their mobility. Mobile Robots can move freely in unconstrained environments, without any external help. They are supplied by batteries as the only source of energy that they could access. Thus, the management of the energy offered by these batteries is so crucial and has to be done properly. Most advanced Battery Management System (BMS) algorithms reported in literature are developed and verified with laboratory-based experiments. The acquired data is then processed either online or offline, using PC-based software. This work consists of developing an on-Chip Extended Kalman Filter based BMS, which can be directly linked in a robot without having to be connected with an external device to process the data. The proposed system is implemented in a low-cost 8 bit microcontroller and results allow to validate the proposed approach.

Abstract
In recent years and after the strong impact of the last global health emergency (COVID-19) information and communication technologies have had a great impact on society but particular in the teaching-learning process. Education has been impacted at all its levels. Therefore, education models have been to be adapted to this new challenging paradigm by using different tools such as videoconferences, simulations, on-line interactive applications, virtual and remote laboratories, robots, etc.The objective of this work is to elaborate a systematic mapping to know what scientific from its beginning to 2020, identifying the most literature exists regarding simulators, remote and virtual laboratories focused on STEM/STEAM skills development in the educational context. To do so, bibliographical data gathered of four of the most popular and complete electronic databases (ACM, IEEE, Scopus and Web of Science). At the begging we selected 1232 articles after applying the acceptance criteria defined as part of the search and select strategy, we had 61 articles that help us to answer some questions like what are the most popular virtual and remote labs? or what are the current trends and issues of these tools? and the future ones? © 2021 IEEE.

Overview of Robotic Based System for Rehabilitation and Healthcare

Abstract
As in many other fields, robots are increasingly being used in the healthcare sector, particularly for hospital logistics support, surgery and rehabilitation. Rehabilitation is a concern for millions of people around the world, and because of this, there has been a constant progress over the last decade in the rehabilitation robotics field, with the use of new technologies aimed at overcoming the different challenges faced in this field. In this sense, this paper reviews the main applications developed in the last ten years of rehabilitation robotics, as well as the different challenges that still need to be addressed in order to achieve the design of a prototype that is easy to use, small, safe, less costly and brings real added value to this field. Much of the efforts of the researchers in this topics is focused on providing as many DOF and ROM as possible, and also on the designing of new robots control algorithms.

Abstract
Digital society demands very qualified professionals ready to this environment challenges. This makes necessary to foster the development of competences related to such context such as Computational Thinking or STEAM related skills. However, this is not an easy task, especially because integrating subjects that covers the necessary topics and competences. New active pedagogical approaches are required and this what RoboSTEAM project provides. The application of Challenge Based Learning and Physical Devices and Robotics facilitate the so named twenty first century skills. The project has been developed by several universities and schools and one of most critical parts was testing the methodology and tools, this was done into pilot phases that are described in the present work. The results show that there are important differences between partners socioe-conomical context, but that the outcomes of the project are flexible enough to be applied successfully in any of them.
