ADAPTATION AND VALUE CREATING COLLABORATIVE NETWORKS

Abstract
This paper aims to explore the performance alignment in collaborative network environments. It has been stated that performance management based on data collection and the evaluation of key performance indicators (KPIs) may not be effective due to the different indicators and measurement systems in place for the various participants in a collaborative network (CN). Therefore, measuring the strategic and inter-organizational alignment based on key alignment indicators (KAIs) can be an excellent alternative to improve performance evaluation systems. This approach has led to the exploration of the performance prediction paradigm and develops tools to estimate a performance and evaluate the degree of alignment by creating instances of a future performance in collaborative networks.

COLLABORATIVE NETWORKS FOR A SUSTAINABLE WORLD

Abstract
The paper underlines the interest of using a performance management system applied to monitor the strategy effectiveness and the interoperation's performance in the collaborative networks (CN). The aim with this study is to verify if a performance management system helps decision-makers reach the alignment among participants in a collaborative network. It is expected that this work provides an adequate tool for supporting quick decisions to meet the feasible and desirable improvements in inter-organisational processes. A framework (CNPMS) is also presented, having been developed to support the dynamic performance management, which was applied in case studies of two Brazilian collaborative networks.

BALANCED AUTOMATION SYSTEMS FOR FUTURE MANUFACTURING NETWORKS

Abstract
In order to fulfill all challenges related to design, management, evaluation and reconfiguration of new or existing facilities, the development of a new, integrated and holistic factory framework is required. In this context, a new requirements model is proposed in the context of the innovative framework called Virtual Factory Framework. Using this approach in factory planning it is expected to improve the ability to generate better and more sustainable solutions over the entire factory life-cycle. This paper underlines the use of the life-cycle paradigm in order to enable the future factory planning approaches.

LEVERAGING KNOWLEDGE FOR INNOVATION IN COLLABORATIVE NETWORKS

Abstract
This paper underlines how the use of Soft Systems Methodology (SSM) for an efficient planning, implementation and monitoring of a dynamic performance management system supported by a conceptual scheme that enables a conscious and prepared implementation, can provide instances of performance of a collaborative network, and also promote alignment among the partners. A systematic way to implement it and a review on two practical applications in Brazilian collaborative networks of SMEs are also presented.

Information Technology for Balanced Manufacturing Systems

Abstract
Business Networking is an innovative business paradigm that can help companies to remain competitive in the market. Nevertheless, its practical implementation is very complicated because of the several dimensions that it involves. There are several cases of business network cooperation; however, each one has its particular characteristics that determine its success. This paper addresses the domain of collaborative networks, established by SME in textile industry, in the scope of an academic research project based on a case study research methodology and centered on a large industrial pole in Brasil.

INNOVATION IN MANUFACTURING NETWORKS

Abstract
This paper describes ebXML. It gives an overview on its background and architecture, approved under the ISO/TS 15000. It also analyzes implementations of the standards' modules as well as initiatives concerning its development and adoption. Other frameworks' efforts on convergence with ebXML are discussed as well as expectations on its place in the future for electronic business.
