Abstract
This paper presents the evolution of the process for management of surgery waiting lists in the Portuguese public hospital network. We use the perspective of the software development and deployment by UTAD, as a partner of the Ministry of Health, to create an information system to manage list recovery programs. We describe the early status and work, when data harvesting was the core challenge, up to the current automated situation. This paper bridges the PERLE, PPMA, PECLEC and SIGIC programmes, and concludes with lessons learned and suggestions for evolution of the process.

PROCEEDINGS OF THE 2013 8TH IBERIAN CONFERENCE ON INFORMATION SYSTEMS AND TECHNOLOGIES (CISTI 2013)

Abstract
This article describes an application proposal since the analysis till the development of a software, which presents itself as a solution to the existent management problem in the Electronics Store in the Engineering Department of University of Tras-os-Montes and Alto Douro. The study as followed a development methodology intrinsic to the problem and to all the features associated to management systems, with the main purpose to obtain a suitable solution by means of Information Technologies capable to support the users in the management of all services and resources of the store in a way completely integrated with the information systems that are more relevant to teaching activity. The solution was developed using Web technologies, enabling an optimized channel for accessing and managing all services and products provided by the store, increasing their efficiency, organization and ability to respond to requests made by all users.

Abstract
This paper describes a proposal to develop a Tourism Recommendation System based in users enhanced profiles (composed by basic user information, relations between user and a set of stereotypes and user functionality levels). The main focus of this work is to evaluate if user's physical and psychological functionality levels considered in user's profiles creation, will produce significant changes in the recommendation results. This work aims also to contribute with a different way to classify points-of-interest (POI) considering their capacity to receive tourists with certain levels of physical and psychological issues that will be described in this paper sections. © 2016 ACM.

ICSOFT-EA: PROCEEDINGS OF THE 11TH INTERNATIONAL JOINT CONFERENCE ON SOFTWARE TECHNOLOGIES - VOL. 1

Abstract
Digital accessibility is recognized as a fundamental tool for an egalitarian society. Nevertheless, software accessibility is an under addressed topic in the discipline of software engineering and the academy in general. As a result, its development and implementation is compromised. This problem is depicted here with the help of some experiments that shows the poor attention which is dedicated to this topic. Some hypotheses that try to explain this problem are formulated, and some possible solutions are debated. As a conclusion, some insights are given and a new possible researched avenue is presented.

INTELLIGENT DISTRIBUTED COMPUTING IX, IDC'2015

Abstract
Learning is understood as an educational activity which aims to help develop the capacities of individuals. These capabilities make individuals able to establish a personal relationship with the environment in which they are inserted. For the learning process to develop the individual has to use its sensory, motor, cognitive, affective and linguistic. Thus, this work aims at studying the effect of emotion in learning systems in online learning environments, analysing the extent to which emotional state can influence the thinking, decision making and learning process.

METHODOLOGIES AND INTELLIGENT SYSTEMS FOR TECHNOLOGY ENHANCED LEARNING

Abstract
The aim of this paper is to present a new approach in user modeling process that use learning and cognitive styles and student emotional state to adapt the user interface, learning content and context. The model is based on a constructivist approach, assessing the user knowledge and presenting contents and activities adapted to the emotional characteristics, learning and cognitive styles of the student. The intelligent behavior of such platform depends on the existence of a tentative description of the student - the student model. The contents of this model and emotional state of the student are used by a domain and interaction model to select the most suitable response to student actions.
