DATA ANALYTICS: PAVING THE WAY TO SUSTAINABLE URBAN MOBILITY

Abstract
Mobility redefinition is essential in any City/Region, towards attaining sustainable mobility in terms of the triple bottom line dimensions (economic, social and environmental). Therefore, it is urgent to improve and to create a more inclusive system towards enhancing public transport, based on population needs and using viable infrastructures and alternatives. Aiming to identify recent keys mobility systems, this paper presents an overview of various solutions adopted in public transports area, in some regions of the world with points in common with Alto Minho' Region and/or to the Region headquarters (Viana do Castelo). Furthermore, it is intended to identify and discuss those innovative combinations of transport modes currently employed, that could positively impact the Alto Minho Region transportation system. The overall assessment will support the definition of the main criteria to design a novel and efficient transport system, fully adapted to this region characteristics and population's needs. Thus, the purpose of this paper is to propose a viable and efficient public transport system that meets the region's sustainability requirements, along with the opportunity to involve the population, the transport companies and the different stakeholders, as well as the policy makers.

Abstract
Enterprises are facing new challenges. The Information and Communications Technologies (ICT) and Systems that supported their operations are also changing. Enterprises are also becoming more socially responsible. The mobility topic is an actual and unavoidable theme regarding social responsibility, which needs to be developed in a three-bottom line approach throughout social, environmental and economic' dimensions - in order to achieve a sustainable mobility. Necessarily, enterprises need to quickly adapt to the growing and rapid changes in the socio-economic and technological environment, thus embracing Enterprise Information Systems (EIS) - essential components of any enterprise system. Allied to a sustainability interoperability and with the Next Generation EIS (NGEIS) guidance, the future sustainable enterprise mobility can be defined. Other critical topic that Enterprises need to properly address and ensure is the data from their stakeholders to support the definition of strategic decision making and achieve rapid and efficient solutions fully aligned with the market context and their clients' expectation. It is also recognized the importance of the continuous technological evolvement, nevertheless these new technological solutions require private and confidential information of their users. Consequently, enterprises must be concerned with the implementation of adequate technological security mechanisms, that can ensure enterprise data and users' data protection. It is analysed/discussed how its EIS innovative features, together with other systems, could contribute to promote sustainable mobility in enterprises ecosystem and it is also enlightened a Portuguese company case. © 2020 IEEE.

Industry 4.0 implications in machine vision metrology: An overview

Abstract
Industry 4.0 is changing disruptively all the industrial processes from their base, and metrology is being challenged by this new 'wave' of rethinking industry. Therefore, new quality control systems are being conceived for measurement purposes, as well as being installed in factories, which represents a huge management challenge, towards handling and processing a large amount of data, as well as developing the required theory for metrology assessment. In this paper, three examples of machine vision systems are presented, which are used to highlight some of the main issues that metrology must deal within this new paradigm. As a main conclusion, every company needs to design its own roadmap towards implementing the adequate methods and processes to be properly adapted and aligned with this new generation of metrology-related systems. © 2019 The Authors. Abstract
Information technologies (IT) and information systems (IS) are the backbone of any developed business, and organizations without them cannot compete. In recent decades, many best practices standards, and guides have been made available to project managers and organizations aimed to improve project management. Unfortunately, IS projects continue to show a poor track record, and problems related to project management performance persists. Risk management has a vital role in this context since it can increase the likelihood and impact of positive events, and decrease the likelihood and impact of adverse events in the project. This article presents the results of an international web-based survey, studying if risk management processes are being implemented consistently in IS project management. The obtained results show low levels of risk management processes implementation and reinforce the idea that “it can be risky not to do risk management,” demanding more research in this area.

Mobility in the Era of Digitalization: Thinking Mobility as a Service (MaaS)

Abstract
The planning and design of sustainable and smart cities—cities of the future—should properly address the challenges that arise by the every day growth of the urban population. Mobility is an important issue considering social inclusion and the sustainable development of such cities. Thus, future mobility will have an increased importance when having to plan and design the cities of tomorrow. A key component of any future mobility and its metabolism is what is known as Mobility as a Service (MaaS), representing emerging opportunities from any type or mode of transportation in future cities. Through an empirical and explorative research methodology, this chapter presents the main issues and characteristics that any future MaaS should consider. Concluding, some features and trends are presented that should be considered in the development of future MaaS systems, allowing a more convenient provision of sustainable, versatile and attractive mobility services. © 2020, Springer Nature Switzerland AG.
