Abstract
Rural regions concentrate on themselves a very rich set of ancestral traditions. The perpetuation of such traditions has been achieved through transmission between generations. Unfortunately, all this knowledge is typically elders-centered and it lacks effective processes of digitalization, storage and providing-systems for that all this heritage can effectively be perpetuated through future generations that are digital-born. From this base, it was created a project case study limited to the Portuguese Northeast region, named Viv@vó – living in the grandma's house. This paper presents the ICT platform that was created in this project and some main achievements during the project development process. Tourism and mainly experience and cultural heritage tourism are growing in tourist’s interests. Rural regions have an untapped potential for this slice of tourism industry. Rural regions have an enormous collection of ancestral knowledge that we are responsible to deliver to future generations as an inheritance to which they are entitled. Copyright © 2019. Carlos R. VISION 2025: EDUCATION EXCELLENCE AND MANAGEMENT OF INNOVATIONS THROUGH SUSTAINABLE ECONOMIC COMPETITIVE ADVANTAGE

Abstract
Communication among the different actors present in the school ecosystem is an essential issue. However, in a hectic world where parents do not have much time to visit schools regularly, it is crucial to create mechanisms to better monitor student's success and school demands. The interaction among school, students and parents presents a growing complex challenge. Technology has, in recent years, shaped the concepts of learning support and monitoring - both in school and out of school - as well as the way information flows among all actors in the school ecosystem. Emergently, the evolution of mobile applications, coupled with the evolution of mobile device capabilities, has made possible to create new and more effective intercommunication mechanisms, with ubiquitous approaches and in a predictable scenario of less willingness to physically interaction of the different actors. Based on these assumptions, this paper reflects on the potential of mobile devices and their applications to support new models of intercommunication among parents or school sponsors, students and teachers. Accordingly, a conceptual model is proposed that represents a work in progress that aims the creation and evaluation of a prototype system capable of improve de intercommunication and the overall success of the school learning system societal challenges.

Proceedings of the 32nd International Business Information Management Association Conference, IBIMA 2018 - Vision 2020: Sustainable Economic Development and Application of Innovation Management from Regional expansion to Global Growth

Abstract
Tourism is an increasingly important global economic activity. The proliferation of technology-based mechanisms applied to this activity, has been prompted by a growing number of more demanding consumers, well informed and receptive to new tools to access information and also by the fact that tourism is an information-intensive activity. However, in what concerns peripheral rural tourism destinations, which are to a large extend made up of micro and small enterprises, there is a lack of evidence that the maturity of data that is captured, processed and maintained, by tourism organizations, has a sufficient level of maturity to support the application of Big Data Analytics techniques. This paper, which intends to examine peripheral and mainly rural tourism destinations, analyses the key issues about technology on tourism and proposes a matrix so that we can gauge if the data currently available, and its maturity level, are sufficient to support the use of Big Data Analytics, with all the inherent benefits that rural tourism destinations could arise from its use. VISION 2025: EDUCATION EXCELLENCE AND MANAGEMENT OF INNOVATIONS THROUGH SUSTAINABLE ECONOMIC COMPETITIVE ADVANTAGE

Abstract
The evolution of technology has led to a set of technologies suitable for mobility and ubiquity scenarios. Phenomena of wireless computing, mobile devices and, generally, miniaturized sensors and actuators embedded in physical spaces are a today's reality. This phenomenon has opened the door to a set of opportunities for reengineering the way we perceive a given fact or situation and the way we act on it. Regarding the delivery of information to users of a given physical space, there is now the possibility of transforming the mechanisms of interaction between the space and the user. This change allows the user to see the physical space, that surrounds him, to adapt to himself and to provide him contextualized and personalized information according to his profile of interest. This approach can improve the way we manage customer relationships in a given business context. This paper overview the state of the art of smart spaces and analyses the potential of indoor positioning systems and techniques, and propose a conceptual model for the detection of users in physical spaces and the consequent adaptation of a smart physical space to provide information aligned with the user's profile of interest and according to is privacy rules.

Although, it is difficult to make a systematic and complete evaluation on websites, they are quality due to their diversity of functionalities, which make them complex to analyses. Many studies have proposed new website evaluation frameworks and criteria. The main objective of this paper is to analyse Portugal and Spain tourism websites, using one model for evaluate tourism websites and a qualitative method approach in order to assess the quality of the respective websites and to identify possible improvements.

Abstract
Todays' market is ruled by several mobile devices applications for all types of proposes. Still, for many destinations, it lacks applications that work in an integrated way, combining cooperative mechanisms that allow the effective support the wide range of tourists need when they visit a destination. Many applications, currently available, to the tourism industry are limited in content and cultural offerings, and commercial applications only communicate with their partners and have no cultural content. This paper presents a framework of a mobile application implementation to support the tourist information needs when tourists are visiting the Portuguese city of Mirandela in which interest points are combined with commercial content. The presented model allows the tourist to have only one application that integrates the contents that he wishes/subscribes, both cultural and commercial, creating a parametrizable universal profile that can be accessed by any of the entities in the system. This approach will benefit both tourists and entities involved. This will also allow increasing the dissemination of regional products and/or services and thereby increase their market potential and consequently their sales.
