Problem Addressed
Storing data in third-party, low-cost infrastructure with confidentiality guarantees and ensuring on-demand online access remains a challenge. Current privacy-preserving collaboration tools, such as Google Docs, require server access to user data, lacking a solution for truly private collaboration. The looming threat of quantum advancements compromising current encryption mechanisms poses a risk of future data breaches. Striking a balance between cost efficiency, confidentiality, and quantum-resistant security poses an ongoing challenge in the evolving landscape of data storage and collaboration.
Technology
Our solution Safecloud is a disruptive approach to quantum-resistant data storage in the cloud. It is a client-side data storage gateway that transforms data into multiple pieces of information stored in two or more independent storage services guaranteeing that, each one of them, individually is unable to access the data (even with infinite computing power).
Advantages
Safe – Quantum-proof information storage and full control over data;
Fast– XOR-based operations lead to low CPU load;
User-friendly – Anywhere/anytime data access;
Resilient – Information is secure even when cloud providers are compromised;
Confidentiality – Real-time, online, collaboration without disclosing confidential information.
Possible Applications
Corporate data storage gateway;
Corporate key management system;
Private online collaboration tools.
