EIT Jumpstarter supports innovators with early-stage projects. The maturation process goes through INESC TEC with follow-up sessions to transform ideas into “successful ventures”: this year, one of them won an award.

The initiative seeks solutions at different stages of maturity: innovative ideas, prototypes, services, products, or community initiatives that aim to address the challenges associated with extreme wildfires - thus contributing to improve the safety of communities and the resilience of forests. The FIRE-RES project, featuring INESC TEC as partner, launched an Open Innovation Challenge and will grant the winners the possibility to develop their ideas and test their solutions in a network of 11 Living Labs, spread over nine countries.

The InsectERA is a mobilising agenda that features close to 40 national entities. Funded within the PRR – Recovery and Resilience Plan, this agenda aims to develop, industrialise, and commercialise nutritional solutions for people, animals, and plants, while fostering opportunities for the cosmetics and bioplastics industries, as well as for the biomedicines sector. It focuses on the creation of organic waste recovery solutions, contributing to the sustainability of value chains.

Close to 40 entrepreneurs and managers, representatives of technology demonstrators and researchers from the scientific and technological ecosystem participated in the innovation workshops promoted within the scope of the SAP 4.0 project; the initiative took place at INESC TEC’s iiLab – Industry and Innovation Laboratory. The project is promoted by the Business Association of Oliveira de Azeméis (AECOA) and co-promoted by the Business Association of Santa Maria da Feira (AEF), with INESC TEC participating as technological partner.

INESC TEC's Centre for Innovation, Technology and Entrepreneurship (CITE) was part of the pilot-project by the new European Commission (EC) network, "CREATE Europe in", a platform to promote cooperation between the different EC contact points in each country, to facilitate the citizens and businesses' access to information about the EC's areas of action.
