Simulação e assessoria à operação da nova unidade industrial

The goal of the services provided to IKEA Industry is to design the layout of the production system in order to optimise the use of the machines, increase efficiency and reduce costs. INESC TEC has developed simulation models that make it possible to recreate the factory's production system, representing with a high level of detail all the existing material flows, intermediate buffers and the capacity of the machines. The idea is to maximise production by designing a more flexible layout, by determining the size of the intermediate buffers and by analysing the size of the production batches. The simulation models help the decision-making process by providing detailed information about the dynamic behaviour of the IKEA's production lines.
