SUSTAINABILITY

Abstract
In a globalization context, underlined by the speed of technological transformation and increasingly competitive markets, the perspective of human capital, as an asset of strategic importance, stands out in differentiating human resource practices. Under this reality, the employer branding (EB) concept gains more and more importance as a strategic tool to attract, retain, and involve human capital, given that this has become a source of competitive advantage to companies. Within this context, this study aimed to evaluate the relationship between employer branding strategies implemented by organizations, as well as their impact on the employee's affective commitment, evident in certain organizational cultures, which are sustained over time. The methodological framework applied to this study is quantitative, and the data collection was carried out with the application of an employer branding and an affective commitment questionnaire. To achieve a good representation of the active population, the sample of the quantitative study was composed of 172 individuals, working in the public and private sectors in Portugal, exercising different positions in the different sectors of activity. Results obtained with these techniques indicate a high level of affective organizational commitment (AOC) of employees in the organizations surveyed, suggesting that affective commitment develops when the individual becomes involved and identifies with the organization.

EDUCATION SCIENCES

Abstract
Burnout is increasingly present in organizations and in the most diverse professions, namely, in university students. Burnout can have negative repercussions on their well-being and can even lead them to abandon their studies. The objective of the study focuses on academic burnout and taking medication as a consequence of the requirements of the academic path of students at a Portuguese public university. To achieve this goal, a quantitative methodology was used, consisting of the distribution of a questionnaire to a sample of students from the analyzed university. The first study questionnaire obtained 207 responses, all valid. To perform the analysis of the quantitative data, the program IBM SPSS Statistics, version 25 was used. Inferential statistics were used, namely, Student t-test and one-way ANOVA (parametric tests), Spearman's correlation coefficient, and the Chi-square test, to test the previously defined research hypotheses. Among the variables for which statistically significant relationships with burnout were found, the following stand out: the arithmetic mean (course average); the professional situation; participation in extracurricular activities; the practice and frequency of physical exercise; the choice and expectations regarding the course; the uncertainty felt about the professional future; the evaluation of the relationship with colleagues.

Abstract
All violinists and violists face the difficulties of playing on a nonsymmetrical instrument, which makes it quite easy to create wrong techniques. A scientific methodology was developed, composed of some simple and repeatable note patterns, and this performance was analyzed in 3D by a MoCap system (Qualisys AB, Sweden) that operates at a sampling frequency of 200 Hz, capturing the positioning of retroreflective markers on the joints of the hand, wrist, left forearm, violin and bow. The resulting data were analysed in Visual 3D software (C-Motion, USA) to extract relevant parameters and metrics. Based on this study, supported by technology, and on a soon-to-be divulged anatomical-functional model of the positioning of the left hand, we are able to state that the right technique leads to less tension and injury, to a better and faster evolution, with less effort, thus being more productive.

Proceedings of the European Conference on Innovation and Entrepreneurship, ECIE

Abstract
This study followed a mixed methodology - five semi-structured interviews were performed, and transcribed in full, with four senior lecturers and one administrative employee at the university; and a survey with 124 valid responses, answered by students of the university, was also conducted. The research question was the following: how does the University of Aveiro achieve its competitive advantage, in view of its competition in Porto, Coimbra and Lisbon, which are the three main geographical areas nearby? The University of Aveiro may also be seen, however, to be competing with other international universities, as the University of Aveiro is highly placed in the international rankings for young universities (the University of Aveiro was, in 2017, ranked 81st in the Times Higher Education Young University Rankings, for universities aged under fifty years). The resources, capabilities and key competences of the University of Aveiro, founded in 1973, were analysed. The results of the study indicate that 76% of the respondents of the survey chose the University of Aveiro as their first choice in their applications, which means that these students are following their first choice for their careers. The University has constructed its attractiveness around value innovation: its low price (not only for its annual fees, but also concerning the cost of living in the Aveiro area - in central Portugal), coupled to its superior and highly recognized teaching practices, its highly recognized research around its 18 research centres, its start-up incubator, its creative science park, its cooperation and knowledge transfer to society (via its many partnerships with different organizations), its multicultural environment (the University of Aveiro is a favourite of Erasmus students), its award-winning campus (in architectural terms), and its organizational culture geared towards the satisfaction of its students, as well as its organizational structure in a matrix format whereby the university is built around different and unique departments (for different functional areas of study) with each having a degree of autonomy, though being managed centrally by the university rectorate. The University of Aveiro is thus seen to be very entrepreneurial as it has remained flexible, dynamic, and principally open to new teaching methods.

Abstract
This study focuses on the impact of technology and on the planning of a trip by a Portuguese tourist. From the literature review, studies done at the European level, the technology inherent to tourism is provided to the entire age range, and fundamentally to the planning of accommodation, transport and tourist packs. The absorption of information is always highlighted by the easy and fast access to the Internet increasingly accessible to anyone, promoting behavioral changes in tourism planning. Thus, an online survey (with 180 valid answers) was carried out, which focused mainly on university students, and was restricted to Portuguese citizens. The survey determined that online platforms are most used for accommodation (87.2%), transportation (87,2%) and the demand for information (68.8%) to the detriment of catering (7.3%), and these are mainly being used because of their speed (79.4%) and simplicity (80.7%). To conclude, our study confirms the bibliographic review, and it was determined that practically all respondents assume the influence of digital platforms in the planning of their trips (99.1%), with 89% going further and affirming that in the future all planning will be carried out in an exclusive way online.
