Abstract
The smart places are vulnerable with corrupted or compromised data, with the false integration of new devices, and devices with firmware versions inconsistent. These risks worsen with the increasing volume and diversity of data, devices, infrastructures and users connected to the Web. The systematic review of the literature were selected 190 documents, which reveals the growing interest on the theme of blockchain technology with the publication of 14 documents in 2014 to about 100 already in 2017. The articles focused on the areas bitcoin (about 40%), IoT (about 30%), financial (about 15%), cryptocurrencies, electronic government (about 12%), smart contracts, smart cities, business (with about 10% each) and health (about 5%). This perspective confirms the generic model study data supported in blockchain technology for smart places, especially when applied to smart cities and the specific field of the mobility ecosystem, with the use of the new concepts of the application of blockchain in IoT, smart contracts and e-governance. © 2018, Springer International Publishing AG, part of Springer Nature.

Abstract
In some industries, recruiting qualified resources can be a problem for SMEs, one option is to start a transformation process, and move from a traditional team to a distributed team, gaining access to a much larger base of possible human resources and business opportunities. Digital transformation can be used to help SMEs in taking the steps needed to become distributed companies. This paper shows how applying a lightweight TOGAF-based methodology to an ongoing digital transformation process, specifically targeting a SME information system, can create opportunities for the company.

Abstract
The number of software-defined controllers available in the market has increased greatly in the last few years. Nowadays, it is possible to find proprietary controllers as well as open source controllers. Examples are companies as HPE and Cisco that offer those two types of controllers to their clients simultaneously. It is also important to note that in both, the open source version is a commercial distribution of OpenDaylight. In the current market it is possible to find controllers for different areas of deployment, with a different programming language and supporting different southbound protocols. Therefore, we considered worth providing a description and a comparison of the main existing controllers.

Abstract
Knowledge management is still a problem for many organizations and at two different levels: tacit knowledge, which typically resides in the head of each individual and gets lost for the organizations when a person goes to work with a different company; and explicit knowledge, which presents growing costs for its dissemination in the organization. In the chapter, the author proposes a model to address those problems, taking for base the SECI (socialization, externalization, combination, and internalization) model, originally developed for knowledge management, together with an e-learning platform and a set of activities as tools to implement a working solution. Such models have the ability to solve organizational knowledge problems, implementing a knowledge management process, allowing the transformation of tacit knowledge into explicit knowledge. © 2018, IGI Global.

Abstract
The topic of Smart Cities involves various aspects of convergence and support to necessarily safe activities, which are dependent on reliable data and reliable sources. The answer could be provided by means of the adoption model of Blockchain technologies for this purpose, applied to the different characteristics of the city from the electronic governance, the contracting of products and services, and the sensing or data collection. The multiple IoT objects and the multiple networks, together with the Blockchain technology, may result in safer and more efficient cities. This paper analyzes and deepens the concept of Smart Cities using Blockchain technology as a platform for safety and reliability of the data. It is intended to reflect critically on this topic, looking through the different aspects involving this concept and the way in which it can implement. It analyzes the Smart Cities and its ecosystems with the generic data models, integrated, with quality data and trusted information.

Abstract
In the global, competitive and ever-changing market it is important that Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), as a significant part of the Portuguese industrial business, become competitive and, thus, it´s important to assess how the level of involvement in Electronic Commerce (EC), in Business-to-Consumer (B2C) relations, can influence the success of a microenterprise in the retail sector, focusing on the Portuguese sub-region of Pinhal Interior Norte. Being a region that is far from the big metropolises, where the young and more educated stratum distances itself, leaving it little more than the population that is getting older and with a reduced level of education, we considered it interesting to study if the microenterprises of the region are prepared to the new era of technology as a business model for their companies. Using the definition of success for a company as positive and growing financial result, it is objective of this work to know if companies with involvement in the EC, in B2C relations, have an increasing success rate due to its adoption and maintenance. Based on a research in a database with information from the companies, the sample was subsequently evaluated to find out which of the companies in the sample were involved in the EC and conducted surveys / interviews with the managers of the sample companies to assess the motivation (s) for their adoption, as well as whether they recognize the return of their investment and what they intend to do to maintain or modify their business. Initially we found several difficulties to gather data to be able to achieve proper conclusions, but with the help of some company managers, we were able to confirm that 62.50% of the analyzed companies saw their financial result increased after the adoption of the EC, which allows us to establish the existence of a relationship between the two facts. © 2018 The Authors.
