Abstract
The proposed framework (Human-Centered Trustworthy Framework) provides a novel human-computer interaction approach to incorporate positive and meaningful trustful user experiences in the system design process. It helps to illustrate potential users' trust concerns in artificial intelligence and guides nonexperts to avoid designing vulnerable interactions that lead to breaches of trust.

Abstract
Societies throughout today’s global village are increasingly aware of the social injustices that minorities face, and immigrants are no exception. Combined with the lack of adaptation resources and the prejudice of non-migrant residents, immigrants may feel powerless in foreign places as they try to find comfort and security in new and unfamiliar environments. It is increasingly urgent to address immigrant issues, considering the crucial role of enhancing diversity, combating prejudice, and raising awareness of minority experiences. This systematic literature review investigates the innovative use of gamification in exploring and addressing the experiences and issues immigrants face. The review follows the PRISMA statement guidelines and checklist. Scopus, CINAHL, and Medline databases were searched, resulting in 17 relevant articles that were carefully analyzed. This research highlights the diverse applications of gamification in studying immigrant experiences via role-playing, interactive storytelling, and empathy-building simulations. This work explores the potential of gamified interventions in addressing pressing issues immigrants face and assesses their effectiveness in fostering empathy and intercultural communication. It also identifies gaps in the existing information sciences literature and proposes directions for future research. In conclusion, this review sheds light on the emerging field of gamification in immigration studies and games studies in the information sciences, providing valuable insights for scholars, policymakers, and practitioners working with immigrant communities worldwide. © 2024 Master of Library Science Program, East Carolina University. Abstract
Reading, adapting, and maintaining complex software can be a daunting task. We might need to refactor it to streamline the process and make the code cleaner and self-explanatory. Traditional refactoring tools guide developers to achieve better-quality code. However, the feedback and assistance they provide can take considerable time. To tackle this issue, we explored the concept of Live Refactoring. This approach focuses on delivering real-time, visually-driven refactoring suggestions. That way, we prototyped a Live Refactoring Environment that visually identifies, recommends, and applies several refactorings in real-time. To validate its effectiveness, we conducted a set of experiments. Those showed that our approach significantly improved various code quality metrics and outperformed the results obtained from manually refactoring code. © 2024 IEEE Computer Society. Abstract
Many companies have been trying to take advantage of the entertainment boom on the internet and are searching for the bestways to make money from content creators. Among these are Virtual YouTubers, who have been growing in English-speaking spaces. This paper compares their popularity and influence in Portugal and the USA, while reflecting on their impact on viewers. To accomplish this, we created a survey, which obtained 102 answers, 46 being from Portuguese people and 44 being from U.S. citizens. We noted that only 37% of Portuguese people had heard of VTubers before and only 13% watch them on a weekly basis. On the other hand, every respondent from the USA was familiar with VTubers, with 86.4% watching them regularly. When asked about how VTubers affected the respondents' personal lives, some stated that it was merely a form of entertainment, however, many U.S. citizens reported that they watch VTubers to fulfill their need for social interaction or cope with loneliness. Thus, it is evident that these creators are much more popular in the USA. Lastly, we conclude that VTubers can have a positive impact on people's lives, but they also serve as an unhealthy escape from reality at times.

Abstract
In this paper we derived an expression that allows the determination of the thermo-optic coefficient of weakly-guiding germanium-doped silica fibers, based on the thermal behavior of optical fiber devices, such as, fiber Bragg gratings (FBGs). The calculations rely on the full knowledge of the fiber parameters and on the temperature sensitivity of FBGs. In order to validate the results, we estimated the thermo-optic coefficient of bulk GeO2 glass at 293 K and 1.55 µm to be 18.3 × 10-6 K-1. The determination of this value required to calculate a correction factor which is based on the knowledge of the thermal expansion coefficient of the fiber core, the Pockels’ coefficients (p11 = 0.125, p12 = 0.258 and p44 = -0.0662) and the Poisson ratio (? = 0.161) of the SMF-28 fiber. To achieve that goal, we estimated the temperature dependence of the thermal expansion coefficient of GeO2 and we discussed the dispersion and temperature dependence of Pockels’ coefficients. We have presented expressions for the dependence of the longitudinal and transverse acoustic velocities on the GeO2 concentration used to calculate the Poisson ratio. We have also discussed the dispersion of the photoelastic constant. An estimate for the temperature dependence of the thermo-optic coefficient of bulk GeO2 glass is presented for the 200–300 K temperature range. © 2024 by the author.

Abstract
Purpose This paper aims to investigate the evolution, roots and influence of the rural entrepreneurship literature.Design/methodology/approachUsing a bibliometric exercise, the analysis starts with investigation of studies on entrepreneurship and gathering all (772) articles on rural entrepreneurship (from 1981 to 2020) found in both Scopus and Web of Science up to 15 August 2020. Citation analysis of the references/citations of 755 articles are listed in the abstract database, generating a citation database involving 46,432 references/citations. This paper considers 635 (out of the 772) articles on rural entrepreneurship (i.e. articles cited in one or more studies), generating a database of 10,767 studies influenced by the rural entrepreneurship literature.Findings This study discovers that the relative importance of rural entrepreneurship within the entrepreneurship literature has increased in the last few years, but rural entrepreneurship remains a European concern; the most frequently addressed topics include growth and development, institutional frameworks and governance and rurality, with theory building being rather understudied. Most of the studies on rural entrepreneurship are empirical, involving mainly qualitative analyses and targeting high income countries; rural entrepreneurship is rooted in the fields of economics and entrepreneurship and is relatively self-referential.Originality/value This study provides a comprehensive and updated investigation of evolution of the rural entrepreneurship literature. The assessment of the literature's scientific roots of rural entrepreneurship had not yet been tackled before. To the best of the author's knowledge this study can be considered as the first effort for identifying the scientific influence of the rural entrepreneurship literature.
