How smartphone advertising influences consumers' purchase intention

Abstract
In the last decade, the use of smartphones has grown steadily. The way consumers interact with brands has changed owing to the accessibility of interne connection on smartphones, and ubiquitous mobility. It is crucial to understand the factors that motivate consumers to interact with smartphone advertisements and therefore what stimulates their decision to purchase. To achieve this goal, we proposed a conceptual model that combines Ducoffe's web advertising model and flow experience theory. Based on the data collected from 303 Portuguese respondents we empirically tested the conceptual model using a partial least squares (PIS) estimation. The results showed that advertising value, flow experience, web design quality, and brand awareness explain purchase intention. The study provides results that allow marketers and advertisers to understand how smartphone advertisements contribute to consumer purchase intention.

Examining social capital and individual motivators to explain the adoption of online citizen participation

Abstract
Online citizen public participation in consultation and decision-oriented processes supported by local governments is a key ingredient for successful digital democracy. As the participatory process is a voluntary activity, social capital, and individual motivation can help to understand citizen engagement in the usage of electronic participatory platforms (e-participation). This study presents and discusses the results of a research model evaluated with 200 respondents who experienced e-participation. The research model integrates a well-known theory of information systems, UTAUT, with the social capital theory, and the individual motivators. We found that, besides the positive effects of UTAUT constructs, such as perceived usefulness, effort expectancy, and facilitating conditions on the intention to use e-participation; altruism also plays a role as a driver of the intention to use. Abstract
Traditional e-Commerce platforms tend to mimic existing physical store processes in which customers are given the opportunity to purchase only the available products without any type of personal customization or even without the possibility of being allowed to present a desired product/service to which the market might be able to respond. With this in mind, a prototype for an electronic negotiation platform directed at the tourism sector has been developed and focused on Douro Valley tourism operators, products and services. In our opinion this prototype might help to develop new business models drawn from the customers' willingness to have a personal tourism experience and not just something off the shelf.

Abstract
The topic of Smart Cities involves various aspects of convergence and support to necessarily safe activities, which are dependent on reliable data and reliable sources. The answer could be provided by means of the adoption model of Blockchain technologies for this purpose, applied to the different characteristics of the city from the electronic governance, the contracting of products and services, and the sensing or data collection. The multiple IoT objects and the multiple networks, together with the Blockchain technology, may result in safer and more efficient cities. This paper analyzes and deepens the concept of Smart Cities using Blockchain technology as a platform for safety and reliability of the data. It is intended to reflect critically on this topic, looking through the different aspects involving this concept and the way in which it can implement. It analyzes the Smart Cities and its ecosystems with the generic data models, integrated, with quality data and trusted information.

Higher Education Students Perspective on Education Management Information Systems: An Initial Success Model Proposal

Abstract
As higher education evolves into a multifaceted and complex activity, the incorporation of education management information systems (EMIS) that allows for the production of relevant, organized and structured information, becomes a necessity for both institutions and students. Despite the recognition of this requirement, existing literature does not focus on how EMIS might trigger students' success. With this in mind, an initial proposal of a multi-perspective EMIS success model is presented and a validation on the possible existence of linear correlations between the model contexts is described. Moderate correlations have been detected between the majority of the model contexts and a very strong correlation has been detected between students' satisfaction and the arise of net benefits associated with the use of EMIS.

Abstract
Collecting, storing, integrating and transforming data, together with the problem of security and privacy, are topics that present great challenges for society. The needs of the industry in general and agri-food in particular in the mushroom production sector, due to their specificities, requires the adoption of emerging technologies to make them more productive and more competitive in this global market. In this type of industry it is important, and essential, the control of the environmental variables of the production areas and the way they are presented, because the information associated with these variables would provide an important complement to the established production control system. In this paper we propose a conceptual approach for an extension to a mushroom farm distributed process control system with IoT and blockchain integration that not only allows to collect distributed data on the environmental indicators inherent to the mushrooms production, but also complement the already existent production control system, which is extremely important for the overall success of the farm management information system used by the group managers. © 2019, Springer Nature Switzerland AG.
