Abstract
Nowadays, the consumption of media content has been growing rapidly and consistently, driven by an easy access to Video on Demand platforms. In this context, licensing is needed to ensure that filmmakers receive rightful payment for their content and ensure that their rights as content owners are respected. The traditional licensing process, which is heavily dependent on third parties (legal entities) to mediate the transaction, is very long, costly, and complex, which is a barrier to smaller independent filmmakers. The solution proposed in this work, to address this problem, is to create a business-to-business marketplace platform supported by a Blockchain licensing module. This module takes advantage of Blockchain technology to ensure the licensing requirements and to provide a secure, practical and straightforward way to license media in a decentralised paradigm. The result of this work was validated though a prototype, and a global assessment of the system's usability was performed using the System Usability Scale, where it got the best possible grade.

Mobile Technology for Children: Designing for Interaction and Learning

Abstract
This chapter focuses on adding spatial and sensory information to mobile technologies to augment the affordability of mobile world exploration by primary school children. It starts by analyzing the significance of space and senses in children's literacy and mobile learning applications. The opportunities and constraints associated with the use of mobile technologies for the exploration of senses and space within primary school learning activities are explored. The experience of the SchoolSenses@Internet project that designed a mobile application for creating georeferenced multisensory messages within a classroom collaborative environmental activity is described, highlighting the goals, development, and implementation processes. A study carried out over an academic year to investigate how children use GPS-equipped mobile phones to explore, create, and share multisensory geographic information is presented and analyzed to evaluate the use of mobile technology in environmental education and to assess learning achievements. The design and implementation process of the application is outlined, and the lessons learned are identified and summarized in the chapter. © 2009 Elsevier Inc. All rights reserved.

Abstract
Most existing location-based services rely on ubiquitous connectivity to deliver location-based contents to the users. However, connectivity is not available anywhere at anytime even in urban centres. Underground, indoors, remote areas, and foreign countries are examples situations where users commonly do not have guaranteed connectivity but could profit from location-based contents. In this work, we propose an open platform for publishing, distributing and maintaining location-based contents that can be accessed offline by the user on a mobile device. Additionally, we describe the prototype we implemented for proof of concept consisting of an smart phone application and a web application back office, using 2D-barcodes as location identifiers. Our prototype provides offline access, as well as publishing, installing and updating location-based content. © 2011 IEEE.

Abstract
FP7 ICT4Depression project aims at providing a set of tools to,further improve both patient outcome and increase of access to treatment of the patients suffering from major depression. This article describes the Information Systems (IS) architecture used in the project. ICT4Depression uses a service oriented architecture as means of bringing together different kinds of information concerning the patient, the therapeutic modules he is advised to follow and the sensors used to assess his status.

KDIR 2010: PROCEEDINGS OF THE INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON KNOWLEDGE DISCOVERY AND INFORMATION RETRIEVAL

Abstract
Collaborative Data Mining (CDM) develops techniques to solve complex problems of data analysis requiring sets of experts in different domains that may be geographically separate. An important issue in CDM is the sharing of experience among the different experts. In this paper we report on a framework that enables users with different expertise to perform data analysis activities and profit, in a collaborative fashion, from expertise and results of other researchers. The collaborative process is supported by web services that seek for relevant knowledge available among the collaborative web sites. We have successfully designed and deployed a prototype for collaborative Data Mining in domains of Molecular Biology and Chemoinformatics.

Proceedings - IEEE International Symposium on Circuits and Systems

Abstract
The value of the signal in one point of the variable is presented as the component of the vector in the basis vector associated with that point. The decomposition of the signal in its components is called the Dirac transform. The change of the convolution into a multiplication, made by the Fourier transform, is a change of bases in the linear space where the signals are defined.
