PROCEEDINGS OF THE 15TH EUROPEAN CONFERENCE ON E-LEARNING (ECEL 2016)

Abstract
New media and social network sites (SNSs) currently play an important role in our society and in our daily practices (Boyd and Ellison 2008; Lister et al 2009; Watkins 2009; Papacharissi 2011). This necessarily affects the way we learn together, as explored in research spanning several areas. Regarding higher education, Facebook has an increasingly prominent position and is more widely investigated as an instructional tool in the college classroom than most SNSs (Tess 2013). From the perspective of teaching and learning, the Web 2.0 is seen as an enabler of a vision in which the student will find information potentially contradicting the knowledge acquired through the traditional formal learning process (Santos 2009). This feature leads to a continuous discussion of the facts, topics and subjects having an awareness of a common range of formal established knowledge shared in a given community and, at the same time, the joint reflection and debate within this same community. This new reality, in which the roles of the teacher and the student (or the roles of who teaches and who learns) become fuzzy, difficult to distinguish clearly, also brings the need for new ways to understand, describe, and explain the learning process and the ways in which it develops. In this paper we use the concept of social e-learning (Martins et al. 2012), building on the connectivist perspective (Siemens 2004, 2006, 2008). Social e-learning can be considered as a learning process whereby the Internet represents a space for participation, sharing, and collaboration, with new opportunities to create, share content, and interact with others (Bennett 2012) - an open door to build more open and flexible knowledge, where students build and rebuild their own path. A concrete format for its implementation is proposed and a genuine experience is presented and discussed. The social e-learning model presented in this article has been successfully applied in a training course in the field of business communication, held by Citeforma. Citeforma is a Portuguese vocational training centre, jointly managed by SITESE (a services workers and technicians union) and IEFP (the Portuguese Institute for Employment and Vocational Training).

Abstract
Nowadays, tourism faces the technology progress challenge. Tourists are changing the way they search for information and the way they buy tourism products and services. Therefore, becomes important to analyze the influence of relevant digital marketing tools on low density tourism regions success, measured through destination image, tourists’ satisfaction and loyalty. The main aim of this article is to demonstrate the theoretical support of a model about the impact of digital marketing tools technologies on low density tourism region. To achieve this purpose, a literature review will be used as a methodological basis. This study also intends to contribute to the scientific debate through the improvement of knowledge in digital marketing tools applied to tourism and for this industry stakeholders. © 2018, Springer International Publishing AG, part of Springer Nature.

Abstract
The importance of e-commerce continues to grow in retail, providing companies with a critical tool to improve marketing and commercial strategies. In this context, understanding the distribution channels and the new business models becomes a fundamental issue for both researchers and business managers. This paper has two priority objectives. First is the accomplishment of a specific recent literature review survey on the theme of e-commerce platforms adoption that will support the next step. Second is to propose an adoption model that characterizes Discount and Outlet Platforms (DOP) adoption. The last contribution is distributed in the form of practical and theoretical implications, as well as future lines of action for possible investigations. © 2018, Springer International Publishing AG, part of Springer Nature.

Abstract
The emergence and widespread use of Information and Communication Technologies enabled government agencies to develop their capacity for citizens interaction, hence providing better public services. These electronic services, typically known as e-Government, have been undergoing significant development over the last few years. Information technologies have become one of the central elements in electronic governance today, and probably they will outstand in the future too. Despite the clear advantages inherent in e-Government services usage, the interaction rate between citizens and governments is still low and considered to be unsatisfactory. In order to understand which determinants may influence and trigger the adoption of e-Government services by civil society, a research methodology consisting of a theory-based qualitative validation, has been defined. This validation is performed by an Online Focus Group, where several experts were involved with the goal of reaching a set of remarkable considerations about potential determinants that can influence the use of e-Government services. © 2018, Springer International Publishing AG, part of Springer Nature.

Abstract
The current technologic proliferation has originated new paradigms concerning the production and consumption of multimedia content. This paper proposes a multisensory 360 video editor that allows producers to edit such contents with high levels of customization. This authoring tool allows the edition and visualization of 360 video with the novelty of allowing to complement the 360 video with multiple stimuli such as audio, haptics, and olfactory. In addition to this multisensory feature, the authoring tool allows customizing individually each of the stimuli to provide an optimal multisensory user experience. A usability evaluation has revealed the pertinence of the editor, where it was verified an effectiveness rate of 100%, only one help request out of 10 participants, and positive efficiency. Satisfaction-wise, results equally revealed high level of satisfaction as the average score was 8.3 out of 10. © Springer International Publishing AG, part of Springer Nature 2018.
