EDUCATION EXCELLENCE AND INNOVATION MANAGEMENT THROUGH VISION 2020

Abstract
The common challenges faced by companies/industries are often related to the 'iron triangle' categories, namely: deadlines, budget, scope and quality. The Project Management knowledge area proposes a systematic approach to overcome these difficulties, with the purpose of acquiring new knowledge and skills, as well as by implementing methodologies, tools, processes and techniques. The textile and clothing industry, or fashion industry, is not immune to the same type of challenges. The products of the fashion chain are collections, which are developed according to market specifications, trends and market profiles. These specifications evolve very rapidly and, therefore, have their main objective in the development of new and/or innovative products. To deliver a new collection, the whole process of elaborating these products is executed based on a per project approach. Each collection is unique, having a well-defined beginning and end. The development of a fashion collection should consider the processes that, at the industrial level, will originate the final product, thus requiring a methodology that integrates the development of the project from the initial phase - conception of the product idea - until the final stage - start of production / launch to the market. By trying to identify project management approaches in the Portuguese textile and clothing industry, this study allowed us to conclude that, despite of these organizations considering as being developing or involved in projects, the approaches followed are not formal, structured and systematic. Furthermore, there is still no complete application of any of the known project management methodologies.

Implications of Mobility as a Service (MaaS) in Urban and Rural Environments - Practice, Progress, and Proficiency in Sustainability

Abstract
This introductory chapter provides a synopsis of the underlying factors that enable the existence of the mobility as a service (MaaS) concept and its role regarding the improvement of the performance of transportation systems. Therefore, several considerations are made to contextualize MaaS in modern societies explaining not only its main functions and advantages but also the challenges facing its widespread implementation.

Implications of Mobility as a Service (MaaS) in Urban and Rural Environments - Practice, Progress, and Proficiency in Sustainability

Abstract
The environmental concerns together with social inclusion issues and the need to promote economic equity in the society have profound implications regarding the sustainable mobility concept. This allied to a technological (r)evolution leads to the path of the internet of mobility (IoM). On the other hand, we are witnessing the prosperity of mobility associated with services, mobility as a service (MaaS), which also aims at the integration of different transport modes. Linking together IoM and MaaS, the internet of mobility as a service (IoMaaS) concept is introduced, which can learn from the end user experiences and behaviors, enabling the reduction of ease of use and sustainable mobility, while supporting a much-needed cultural shift regarding mobility habits.

Abstract
Quality Management has been one of the most dominating and pervasive managerial approaches all over the world during the last three decades. The questionnaire of this study included different information, of where we can highlight: the perception of the importance having implemented the ISO 9001 standard; the most used quality tools/techniques in the professional activities. As main conclusions we can highlight: women attach great importance to the implementation of the ISO 9001 standard, namely as regards on customer satisfaction, in the competitiveness of the Organization and in the relationship with customers and give less importance in individual performance, in motivation of professionals and in the evolution of sales. Men value the implementation of the ISO 9001 more, namely regarding to the relationship with customers, in the management mode and they give less importance to the evolution of sales and to the motivation of professionals.

Abstract
Mobility is an essential part of modern society and of the actual panorama of mobility and accessibility, including Public Transportation Systems (PTS), needs to be rethink and adapted, regarding the social and technological evolutions, enhancing a healthier, environmentally sustainable, economic viable and equitable transportation for all the population. This paper describes the actual mobility attributes, through mentioning diverse case studies, and technological features/requirements towards presenting a solution to achieve the redefinition of mobility systems, i.e. allowing to enhance integrated mobility options, from the Public Transport (PT) modes through the soft modes enclosure, supported by a technological system that could manage and support the efficient use of such mobility options - that is designated as Flexible on Demand Transport Services (FDTS). The involvement and commitment of all the stakeholders in the mobility process as well as the municipal support, and the policy makers in general is essential to fully adopt the mobility framework dynamics and implement the future mobility of the intermodal system and of the MaaS integration.

Abstract
Along with the social evolution concept and the environmental concerns, the use of active transport modes is a suitable solution to face this new reality. Therefore, the cultural shift needed in order to promote the use of active modes, the use of bicycles as a viable transport mode, and the understanding of its impacts and characteristics becomes a present priority and concern. Based on the actual bicycle panorama and the Portuguese cycling strategies and guidelines, the GetGreen Company data, in the scope of the EducaBicla Program case study, is analysed and a future pathway is outlined. This study allows to create a sensitivity perception of the relation between the daily use of bicycles as a transport mode and its promotion among young ages population, i.e. the impact on sustainable and healthy daily mobility choices after having the knowledge provided by teaching/learning bicycle programs such as EducaBicla. In this paper are identified the main features/characteristics to be considered when implementing a bicycle teaching/learning project, ensuring progress towards the use of active, healthy and sustainable mobility modes; the appropriated age to start this program; and how this program can be expanded.
