Abstract
The latest forecasts for the Portuguese tourist industry show that it will represent 16% of the Portuguese GNP very soon and, for 2017, the State Statistical Office registered over 3.5 million guests visiting the North of Portugal and around 7.4 million overnight stays in the region's tourist accommodation, which makes it safe to say that investing in projects that foster a common language in business communication will not only result in tangible financial gains but also in improved multi-cultural and multilingual understanding. Companies need, thus, to communicate seamlessly in a fully internationalised and digital world challenges companies to meet the need to systematise and harmonise language to properly convey meaning, thus promoting successful business undertakings. Such a need, a direct consequence of the phenomenon of globalisation and internationalisation of scientific and technological knowledge, becomes clear in a region with all the necessary elements to anchor sustainable growth, namely the four locations classified as UNESCO's World Heritage sites (Porto's historic center, Alto Douro wine region, Oa Valley Archeological Park and GuimarSes Historic Center). "WiTo - Do you speak wine tourism?" is a project, supported by a PhD thesis, that aims at creating an electronic multilingual thesaurus the wine tourism experts will consider a useful tool for communicating with different publics (experts and non-experts). Thus, we will have to determine which subjects and technical know-how are considered core, complementary and cross-sectional to wine tourism, leading to the conceptual representation of wine tourism specialised language (which, in turn, will allow for structuring and harmonization of the linguistic heritage clearly visible in the area's terminology). This project aims at providing the necessary basis for optimising knowledge transfer (thus promoting a faster flow of technical and scientific information) and its implementation in tourism information systems and electronic support platforms. This article aims at giving an overview of the current research in this area and presenting WiTo by highlighting some of its preliminary results and discussing some of the open questions.

Abstract
This article arises from the proposal of a new approach regarding the inclusion of soft-digital skills training in higher education. The study carried out on several curricular units in different higher education courses in Portugal led us to reflect on a different educational model, which combines the development of soft skills in digital environments. Digitalization and the use of technologies since early ages in the educational process are raising interesting questions. This article intends to go deeper on the use of digital technologies, namely through the virtual environments imposed by higher education institutions as a form of study. The main question is how pedagogies and the use of technologies have a meeting point where it is possible to continue humanization in education through the utilization of virtual environments to support the teaching/learning process. The methodology used in this study has its support on questionnaires made to students of higher education in different areas of knowledge, such as medicine, nursing, engineering, management, arts and literature. The main conclusions of this study are the importance of creating and using digital platforms that not only support the study but also contemplate the use of a virtual reality where students can interact with others in the discussion and resolution of real life situations.

Abstract
When it comes to translators training, the acquisition of indexing and terminological competences (both at retrieval and management stage) has a major role in the performance of future translators. A good terminological database, as a result of an accurate research, along with computer assisted translation tools (CAT tools) can improve translation's speed and quality and also reduce revision costs, bringing in benefits for all the players in the translation industry: language service providers and clients. That process (analysis, selection, retrieval and storage of terminology) takes place mostly in the pre-translation stage, but underlies the whole translation work and can be a determining factor to the quality of the final product and to its homogeneity, especially when carried out in a collaborative environment. The development of terminological databases is an essential step in the training of translators and the efficient search for the right word a necessary skill in today's globalised translation market. Moreover being the quest for the right word almost entirely run over the Internet, data diversity can greatly increase the noise. This search poses several questions, mainly (1) how and where to retrieve information and (2) how to manage it efficiently, especially to students who are neither experts in terminology nor in translation. To ease some of these problems, students were assigned a project in terminology (a database) and, in order to accomplish it, both a Webquest and an ePortfolio were proposed as guidance tools. Along the process, students were expected to build up their thematic and communicative competence and, in parallel, widen their skills in computer-assisted translation tools as well as standard office-automation software. This paper aims at discussing how these two tools helped students guide their research, structure the problem solving activities, develop critical thinking and terminological competencies.

Abstract
A Personal Learning Environment (PLE) reflects, as a concept, the combination of the set of tools that we use around internet, helping to perceive what we are and what we learn. PLEs are able to bring together all learning experiences acquired in different contexts and mix those experiences in order to reflect ones knowledge. This paper aims at analyzing and exploring the advantages of a PLE, focusing specially on the use of ePortfolios in this context, by considering different approaches and exploring the relationship between the development of an e-portfolio and the students learning styles and multiple intelligences. This focus results from our perception that being aware of the students learning preferences is essential to enhance the quality of the teaching-learning environment, developing different kinds of activities and using different learning tools. In order to understand if and how those concepts (ePortfolios, learning styles and multiple intelligences) are related and to develop some understanding on an approach to correlate them, we have used some assessment tools and applied them in a case study in the area of translation and terminology leaning. The study, briefly described in this paper, has been a well succeeded one. However, we expect to foster further knowledge on the factors that should be changed during the teaching-learning process, by detecting and suggesting improvements. For that we will also reflect on what should be done to achieve better results when using ePortfolios, and consider other tools and approaches to enhance this process, such as social networks

Abstract
This paper presents a case in the development of a knowledge community support system in the context of an industrial association group in the construction sector. This system is a result of the Know-Construct project which aims at providing association sponsored SME communities of the construction sector with a sophisticated information management platform and community building tools for knowledge sharing. The paper begins by characterizing the so-called construction industry knowledge community. The Know-Construct system concept and the its general architecture are described, focusing on the semantic resources, in particular the ontologies structure. The final part of the paper depicts the approach to the actual introduction of the system in the community. An action-research approach was planned to obtain research results regarding the social acceptance of semantic resources such as the ontologies and technical classifications used in system.
