Work description
Develop scientific activity in the area of Communications, aligned with the 6G scenarios of convergence between communications and sensing, including multimodal sensing based on radio and computer vision technologies. The planned activity involves the assembly and configuration of experimental setups including 5G base stations, reconfigurable intelligent surfaces and computer vision systems, as well as corresponding interface software. The scientific activity involves the guidance of junior researchers, the coordination and participation in scientific and technological dissemination initiatives and should be oriented towards the scientific production for international journals and conferences. The work also envisages to support the coordination and execution of R&D projects, including the CONVERGE, TERRAMETA, A-Mover and PLURIANUAL-LA projects, and also support of the technical tasks associated with these projects, as well as supporting the preparation of applications to R&D projects and the valorisation of the knowledge, including intellectual property rights.
Academic Qualifications
MSc degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering, or related scientific area.
Minimum profile required
Masters with research experience compatible with the research assistant category. Minimum of one international journal publication with Q1 in Scopus. Minimum of five publications in the proceedings of international conferences. Previous experience in the implementation of international research projects in the area of Communications or related scientific area.
Preference factors
Previous experience in the support to the coordination of R&D projects, supervision of junior researchers (e.g. BSc and MSc Students), as well as participation in scientific and technological dissemination initiatives.
