Computer Science (Hyperscale systems)

Work description

• Research of novel techniques and solutions on storage systems, distributed systems, and operating systems to optimize the performance, resource utilization, and energy efficiency of large-scale infrastructures (e.g., cloud computing data centers, HPC supercomputers). • Contribute to the scientific community through high-impact publications in top-tier conferences and journals in HPC, computer systems, and sustainable computing. • Supervise and mentor junior researchers, graduate and undergraduate students, and post-docs. • Participate in the development, coordination, and execution of national and international collaborative research projects. • Establish and lead international research collaborations.

Academic Qualifications

• A Ph.D. degree in computer science or a related field obtained within the last 10 years.

Minimum profile required

• A Ph.D. degree in computer science or a related field obtained within the last 10 years.• Proven research experience in designing data storage systems, operating systems, and distributed systems for large-scale infrastructures (e.g., HPC supercomputers, cloud computing data centers).• Proven experience leading or participating in research teams, particularly in the context of collaborative projects and funding entities.• A strong publication record in top-tier conferences and journals relevant to HPC, storage and operating systems, or energy-efficient computing.• Teaching and supervision experience in topics related to cloud computing, HPC, or large-scale systems.

Preference factors

• Research experience in designing resource management solutions for large-scale infrastructures. • Research experience in designing sustainable and energy-efficient computer systems for large-scale infrastructures. • Demonstrated ability to secure research funding or participate in successful grant applications. • Proven ability to supervise junior researchers, students, or post-docs. • Collaboration with national and international researchers.
