Work description
Within the context of distributed machine learning over geographically distributed data, the following activities are defined: - Explore fully distributed fault tolerant machine learning mechanisms; - Explore the impact of potential data heterogeneity in distributed machine learning mechanisms and results. - Implement and evaluate a fully distributed byzantine fault tolerant machine learning protocol. - Write a MSc. Dissertation in this context. - Complete the grant's activity report. The tasks described in this working plan demand the application and development of concepts and techniques in the area of Software Engineering which are usually introduced in curricular units included in the curricula of the Mestrados Integrados em Engenharia Informática or Mestrado em Engenharia Informática studies.
Academic Qualifications
BSc Degree in Informatics Engineering or enrolled in a Masters Degree in Informatics Engineering.
Minimum profile required
- Knowledgeable in fault tolerance;- Solid knowledge of distributed systems;- Proficient in Portuguese and English.
Preference factors
- Experience with fault tolerant distributed machine learning protocols. - Solid knowledge of byzantine fault tolerance.
