Underwater Robotics

Work description

1. Study of the following topics: a. Motion models of ASV and AUV (kinematics and dynamics) b. Models for acoustic modems (propagation delays, communication schemes, acoustic ranging) c. Underwater localization principles 2. Develop software drivers for integration of components in embedded systems (AUV and ASV) 3. Develop a simulation environment for cooperative AUV and ASV operations, including communication constraints 4. Simulate cooperative missions with communication capabilities 5. Integrate communication capabilities in autonomous vehicles (AUV & ASV) 6. Plan and participate in field trials to validate cooperative maneuvers, including partial testing and tank experiments 7. Report and disseminate the developed work (ideally with a publication)
